Whether you happen into unsafe Rust because you're doing embedded, or performance work, bind another unsafe language, or pull clever tricks that cannot be expressed in safe Rust, you encounter the infectious nature of unsafe. But the great thing about unsafe Rust is that we can contain it, allowing a misuse-resistant safe interface on top of unsafe code. With a few examples of unsafe code, we look at what invariants the programmer needs to uphold and what tools the compiler gives us to ensure they're met.
